Yes. You may have learned to drive in snow, but those of us who grew up in the south mostly did not. When it snows, we stay home. Most of central and eastern North Carolina get more ice than snow anyways, and NO ONE should drive on the ice.
If there's no need to go out, why go out? When in Rome...
My mother in Asheville has over a foot now. In my part of the world, it's supposed to start tonight but mostly be ice. I'm going out before it starts to get food for my dog. But I will not be going out once it starts.
