Yes - I'm the same. Wear an 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 in US sizing for shoes and wear a 41 in Sidis (and also 41 in Shimano). Could get away with the 41.5 too I think but might find the 42 a bit too big.
I have had Shimano road shoes for a long time and liked them well enough - nice and roomy in the toes. But when I put on those Sidis (Genius 5.5?) it was like the angels singing! I think they are just the right shape for my feet (skinny heels and long skinny toes, if just a little broader through the ball). It all just comes down to what suits your foot best. I just bought myself some Sidi Giaus I don't really need in the sales because I like the Sidis so much).
The Sidis fit like a glove, whereas the Shimanos fit like a mitten!
