Hooray! After some of the coldest Dec. weather NC has had in a while, we had temps in the mid 50s today, and I was able to do 25 miles with a few friends. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60s I'm hoping I can find time to go out for at least a short ride by myself to welcome the New Year!

It was 60 today in Chapel Hill, and DH and I got out for 12.3 miles. Oh, it felt so good! My last ride before that was Nov. 22, then the bottom dropped out of the temps. Warmest day in weeks!

Happy New Year to all of you!!

I've been reading the thread and though I've never had a problem not being able to get out and ride in the winter here I have to say that sometimes it is just toooooo hot for riding. Such as yesterday where it was meant to get to 43C. Being a fatty boom bah I suffer terribly in the heat so I missed riding for the last day of 2010. However I have just clocked up a 50km ride this morning as temps are a bit more manageable today. And what a fabulous year 2011 is going to be!!!

    Happy 2011 to all.

I got out early this morning to beat the heat - it's 37 degrees Celsius here in Canberra today (that's almost 99 degrees farenheit for all you non-metrics). So just a short ride of 26 kms around our lake (16 miles) before escaping home to air conditioning.

And I almost got attacked by a snake! It was on the path with its head raised and as I approached it slithered off the path back into the grass. Phew!

Pootler - you did much better with 50 kms today - how's the temp in Adelaide?
