Mmmm, peaches! I'm sure I'd love it, but I've never seen that brand here in NC. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can find when I hit the grocery tomorrow. I'll definitely get something different/interesting/holiday-ish.

The hubby and I have been brewing our own beer. We just did a pumpkin ale that was amazing and a chocolate cherry stout.

As for other beers, I just had an Ommegang Adoration and Captain Lawrence Nor'Easter. Yummy!

You're forgetting our Cascadian Dark Ale and Belgian Double.

And the visit to the LHS yielded the makings of a vanilla bean belgian dark strong ale.

I drink much more wine than beer. But there's times when only a beer will do like on a hot summer evening.

I tend to like lagers and pilsners more than ales. Likes are as follows:

    Blue Moon and Pale Moon
    Bells Oberon (rocks)
    Heinken

In the Ann Arbor area we have several local brews, but I'm not good at remembering beer names, most are pretty good and there was an all organic local brewery that made excellent beer and served their beers out of the correct style glass for a particular beer (this got lots of extra points from me) but sadly they are no longer in business.

On a visit to Canada's Muskoka lakes region I visited a cottage brewery and loved their beers, aptly named Muskoka Cottage Brewery. In fact I am drinking egg nog out of a Muskoka pilsner glass right now!

A bottle or two of Bud Light and Michelob light can usually be found in my fridge.

All time favorite rootbeer is A&W served on draft only, not the stuff in bottles or cans. Nuttin like it.

I was convinced for most of my adult life that I didn't like beer, but a few friends at church set out to prove me wrong. I cannot drink wine, I think that I am sensitive to the sulfides, it isn't fun.

I have found that I really enjoy wheat beer, pilsners, sweet stouts, and ales more than lagers. I really enjoy stouts, but not bitter. My current favorites are:

    Stockyard Oatmeal Stout
    Dunkelweizen
    Bell's Best Brown Ale
    Bell's White Winter Ale
    Molson's
    Kennebunkport Blueberry Ale (Wheat)
    Dos XX

Yes, La Fin du Monde is 10% alcohol. My funniest story about it happened when we went our cycling tour of Quebec. We went with our good friends and drove up there 3 days before the tour started. We arrived around 4 PM, and Janine, who is a champion napper, decided to skip our exploratory walk around Old Quebec, to snooze. So, DH and I, and Brant ended up at an outdoor bistro and ordered La Fin du Monde. We warned Brant.... but, when he went to stand up, he just about fell over, he was so "happy." He decided to swear off of it for the rest of the trip, because he was afraid it would interfere with his cycling. But, he has had more safely at our house.

I'd attend regularly if I knew of a church like that!

It was our cantor who set out to prove me wrong - I learned that it is the mass-produced American beers that I dislike (Bud, Coors, etc). He and his wife introduced me to a couple of good ales at several celebrations we had at church and proved me wrong!

I'm not a big fan of wine, although there is a wineary near here that has fruit flavored wines that I really like. I prefer mixed drinks (specifically ones with rum) to anything else.
For beers my favorite is Molson and about the only other one I'll drink is Sam Adams.

My DH did good! He completely surprised me with my Christmas gifts this morning. He had gone to a local beer shop and purchased several 6 packs of seasonal microbrews for me! He brought them down in a cooler (which I was forbidden from opening). I was VERY surprised but happy! I had also bought myself a 6-pack of Sam Adams blackberry wheat bear, so I have a great selection to sample during our holiday time here at the beach and will have plenty to take home too!

Ok, so i get a fry's gift card every year from work. I take the 25 dollars and it always goes towards purchasing and trying new ales.

This one beats all! Humbolt Ale: Made from Hemp! Ah a reason to drink ale, for the omega benefits! I love this!

Sorry for the stupid question, but whats the difference between beer and ale? I know theres Sam Adams and Guinness - but these are beers? Can you tell I'm not a real beer drinker.

It has to do with how they are brewed and how the yeast is fermented. You can find a brief discussion here and here.

I recently discovered Abita beer, Abita Springs, LA, and I think it's outstanding.

My favorites are the Purple Haze, Turbodog and Amber.
