Cycling the Blue Ridge Parkway

I live in ROANOKE!!! and ride the parkway here a LOT. It is very hilly here and I believe Shenandoah is even MORE hilly. When you see the sign to Roanoke/Vinton/Stewartsville, give a wave or you can call me! I actually live in Stewartsville, just a few miles from the parkway.

There is quite a bit of traffic on the parkway but most are friendly, in the summer we do get several RV's traveling the parkway - which I think is illegal but they go the speed limit for the most part. Watch for deer and hiss at the groundhogs scares them, I don't like groundhogs so I always make noises when I see them to scare them off. We have horses and groundhog holes can break legs.

Bouncy and Trigurl, I'll let you know if we ever get our trip planned out. I have to get quite a lot of work done on my dissertation before the trip in order to be able to go at all. The original idea was to go in June. I'll keep you posted...Send some *work* vibes if you can spare any.
