Bmc, I hope you will feel equally sentimental about your new home soon...but it may be easier without humidity this summer

    That's a cool story!

Such a nice gift, and great timing as well! Having spent a good amount of time in NO and in your current area some years ago, I can certainly understand missing New Orleans. There really isn't another city quite like it in our country - and as beautiful as the area is where you have moved is - you have drastic changes in many ways. I suspect you will enjoy greatly some of the climate changes next summer

That is such a sweet story. I couldn't wait to leave College Station after my husband graduated, then I remembered the things I missed when I left. I am a lot closer but I can't get by Blue Baker on Mondays for Cappucino bread or a fabulous salad in a bowl of baked parmesan cheese. Kind of like the song by Mac Davis "Happiness is Lubbock, TX in My Rearview Mirror". At least the Stollen can be shipped to give you a little piece of what you miss.

Oh, I SO understand! It's been 25 years since I've left Bayou Country, and I still miss it. In fact, the longer I'm away the more I miss it. Nowhere else is the same. (Sigh)

What a great story! I've only been to NO twice but I fell in love,I can see how you'd miss it. I think the stollen is your good karma you're looking out for your sister in NO and NO is looking out for you. Hope you find some things to love about the PNW soon there are many.
I like bikes, sometimes more than my husband
