I was thinking on today's ride that even though I am not exactly a newbie there is ALWAYS something new to learn or experience on the bike, and that is part of what makes riding so much fun!
Today I rode in the snow for the first time. . . .well, the first time in deep powdery snow. With the bike slipping and sliding everywhere, it makes you really rely on core core muscles for balance, you also just have to relax and let the bike do what it needs to do, and trust your body to follow. . . . oh yeah, and it makes you feel like a kid again!

I was sore, then I had a cold, then it snowed. Hoping to get out this week though, possibly tomorrow if the last of the ice melts. This may be over optimistic given that the temperature is only forecast to go one degree above freezing all week. On Tuesday I'm going to the LBS to have another go at choosing a Christmas bike
Good times.
