I'm here for you! Join the type-a-motivated-by-a-goal support group

Some people ride for the sake of riding. Some people need a goal. Some people need a race and competition. Not better than the others, just different.

I too am part of the goal group (with a splash of competition and a pinch of the "for pleasure" group).

You WILL figure out how to get it done, and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment when you do (and that's ok!).

Then, you will know what to do for next year!
Slow and steady (like a train!)

About 5 years ago, I missed my goal by 99 miles. Although I was riding indoors, etc. I didn't count any of that. I was upset, so I understand, but I am much more relaxed about my goals now. So, while I have reached my goals each year since, I scaled back a bit for a couple of years, because I didn't want to disappoint myself. This year I set an "acceptable" goal and a "reach" goal. I have achieved both, with time to spare, so now I know what I am capable of. But, I have to say, weather played a big part in this. It was warm and dry this year.

I used to be the one bummed over an A-, grad school is curing me of that, quickly.

Be glad you were healthy enough to go and knock out an amazing amount of miles like that. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I'm proud of you even if you are not!

I can understand your disappointment and frustration but the year is not over yet. The last time I looked December had 31 days- it may be snowing now but you've still got time or am I missing some point?

Either way, you will get it done.
