I went to The Running Event in Austin this week. TRE is an industry trade show/education seminar event. I learned a TON while there.

Since everyone who attends is a runner (almost all are shop owners or employees), they did a timed 5K run on Wednesday @ 7am. Damn, these people are FAST. There were several hundred entrants. Average men's finishing time was 20 minutes (winner was sub-15:00). Avg female was right at 24 minutes.

Despite setting a new PR (27:48! Yay! ), I was still almost last across the line.
