I've been running unusually fast this week-- I keep ending up running something between 8:15 and 8:30 per mile. Maybe it's the cooler fall weather, or lower weekly mileage. Anyway, it's fun to be fast!

Today was a rain shortened 2.5 miles. It went from drizzle to downpour awfully fast! but we need the rain....

Got in a little over a 5 mile run yesterday. I was pretty comfortable for the first 3 miles the last 2 were tough because my hamstrings began to get real tight. It was a beautiful day for a run..sunny and temps in the 40s.

I was a total klutz on today's (road) run. First I tripped and fell...on completely smooth pavement. Then not even two minutes later, I got distracted by a big group of kids on the sidewalk who randomly said somethiing to me, and ran smack into a fire hydrant! I have a nice bruise on my left outer thigh now. Today has just generally been a crappy day...I could use another run right about now to de-stress. I just found out a bit ago that there's an internal candidate being interviewed for a job I was really thinking I would have a good chance at getting. That's how things have been going...every time anything has seemed really promising, something has happened to throw a wrench into the works. I am so sick of being in a holding pattern and feeling like I have no stability in my life...not to mention the frustration of having gone to school for so long and then not getting a chance to work in my field. It sucks and I'm starting to wonder if it will ever end.

A little over four miles today on the MUP - had a meeting at the Y, used the opportunity to get my @ss out on the pavement.

Had a haircut this AM, ran on the treadmill after work. Have a major headache and feel pretty tired, must be fighting stuff off, or girl stuff. Ugh.

Back on the pavement in the morning, I hope. Hoping to be out the door at 8:15, the time my race starts, to hopefully condition for that.

I haven't been running too much, race-walking the dogs (the puppy doesn't know how to walk slow) and doing crossfit. I just signed up for the local 5k Turkey Trot. Think I can do it, slowly.
[Sarah Palin ran in our Turkey Trot last year, haven't heard she's going to be in town again this year. I went down to take photos for the local photography club. I was impressed with her - she could push a double baby stroller, shake the hands of random people wanting to touch her, lean over and talk to her younger jogging children while jogging herself, and she didn't trip.
(She also stopped my SO and asked him about his velomobile).]
