Me too! Those are adorable and they look quite comfy. I wish I could wear boots but unless is frigid cold (which doesn't happen here) they just make my feet too hot.

Take a look at Skechers, too. I spent a few days in NYC last month and my Skechers were great.

My experience tells me that LA people care primarily about themselves, how funny you or I may look will be an entertaining highlight, but not the main focus.

A don't mean ALL all of you... just generally the shoes on others noticing ones ( I'm really one of you if you go far enough back in time.)

Anyway, I keep reading this thread as:

    So do I!

Regarding shallow, I've moved a lot in my life and I'm fairly sure you can find plenty of "shallow" just about anywhere!

I really should wear glasses, sometimes I don't.
Without my glasses, this thread title looks like
Call Girl Seeks NYC shoes - seeming shallow is small compared to what I thought you were claiming about yourself.

I'm so glad I was not the only person who misread the title, I suppose it shows where our minds are?!?!?!

You might also want to check into Clark shoes. I have very bad feet - and I have had the most luck with this company in finding shoes that are comfortable, that don't start hurting my feet after a few hours, and look nice. Indeed, I do not even have to wear my orthotics for my current pair! I have had more luck with their shoes over Keene, Merrel, and pretty much any other brand that I have tried.

    Nice. Ahem.

I'm heading to Manhattan to hang out with Charlie Sheen - woohoo!

Problem is, I have a job where I generally don't need shoes. I'm expecting to do a LOT of walking in NY. Any suggestions on shoes that are good for walking, warm, and hopefully good-looking?

Also, I could use a fancy watch.

In other news, the Keens failed. Too narrow, felt like I'd wobble off them.

Keens are too narrow?! Your feet might be as wide as mine!

New Balance shoes come in widths, but they look like sensible shoes at best. I like them for walking around, but I call them 'my ugly shoes,' but only when they can't hear me.

Dansko makes some shoes that look like normal pretty shoes.
