    My new LANDSHARK

    To disable ads, please log-in.

OK I have had the bike since August - just wanted a chance to ride it before I gave a report. The geometry is alittle different than my old bike (2002 Lemond Zurich). The top tube is shorter, the bike taller, less aggressive positioning. I am 60 and the thought is the bike needs to carry me into my 70's. The craftsmanship is lovely and the bike moves like a dream. It's extremely light and very quick, very responsive.

The paint scheme may get old after awhile but since it is a LANDSHARK I wanted something unique, different and would stand out (the builder will repaint for a small fee). Right now I refer to it as my "hello Kitty" bike... it doesn't look serious until you closely check it out. I like lower gears (since I am old, fat and have bad knees) so check out the new Sram XX cassette - a piece of bling!

I had the bike custom fitted and built up through Main Street Cycles in Santa Maria, CA:

    Very nice!

I noticed you are in OC - why'd you go all the way up to Santa Maria to get it built? Is the shop just that awesome?

You would be insane to ever repaint it. That bike is gorgeous. More than that even, it's a work of art.
