I like the Moving Comfort Cara bra. Plenty of support, even in the D, but it's not wool and it clasps in the back.

Moving Comfort Fiona and Maya are both decent high-support bras.

Excellent options! I knew someone would have some suggestions.

Can you step into a bra, thus not go over your head? It may not work depending on your hips, but it's much easier on the shoulders.

I guess I'm the minority D-cupper who has found that the "high impact" Moving Comfort bras are a joke (they are fine on the bike, but horrible for running or other truly high impact activities). I have yet to find a MC model that doesn't give me a blobby speed-bump across my chest. And they cost a small fortune for such mediocre support.

What I have found to be best for compression AND encapsulation is this bra:
Champion Shape Scoop-Back Full-Figure Underwire Sports Bra. No Cooper's ligaments pain. That's the sure sign for me that a bra does the job. My girls don't move a bit.

For great support (I wear G Cup so I really need support) I like the Freya Active Bras. They come with or without underwires. But they close in the back. I guess with your shoulder-problems you could just close them in the front and then turn them around as many women seem to do.

I also have a "Z-bra" which has a zip in the front but it isn't as supportive as the Freya. I also find the zipper itches and scratches a bit which can be annoying if I have to wear the bra for a longer period of time.

Somehow I find bras that accommodate each boob in an extra space like the Freya or for example the Shock Absorber Level4 D+ (and typically close in the back) provide more support than those "bra-top- style" ones.
