Wow - I can't say that I've ever been referred to as a Google goddess before! But you're right, I did find that site by googling...

I eat oranges, apples and other fruits each day, after 100 ozs of water I am ready for something different! my ONE bad habit is diet soda so I guess that isn't too bad compared to what I could be eating or drinking.

Right..i'm going to post by litres...

I try and drink at least 2l of water a day. I may have a coffee but i usually stick to water.

Water, water & more water & say...however it leads to many many pee breaks.....not good when trying to walk home & no public toilet around...

    Remember...water & more water..

The public service annoucement for water is over..

I too was kind of surprised by the amount of diet soda consumption. I've just never liked the taste of it. We all have our own little quirks. I often mix my juices.

Thom likes Coke and about 18 months ago I passed out from a coke bubble that was stuck in my chest. I was hot from working in the yard and drank it way too fast. I kid you not. It HURT so bad. Fortunately I was sitting on the floor when it happened. Thom even called 911. I came to as he was dialing. Needless to say, that put me off Coke.

I like orange soda - yeah I have a sweet tooth. But a few months ago I just stopped buying soda at all for me to have at home. I usually have cran/raspberry 100% juice and oj in the house.

I forgot that I usually have a Red Bull a day, sometimes two. One when I get home from work. It's my reward for riding uphill with 10 - 20 pounds of "stuff." The second one is post workout ride.

I regularly drink 3 litres of water a day, more when its hot. It is 4pm here now and I have already drunk over 2.5 litres and a few cups of peppermint tea. I went out for a run at lunchtime and that always makes me thirsty in the afternoon. I really suffer if I don't drink enough water my body really seems to notice when it is a bit dehydrated (I'm sure that's why I get such killer hangovers).

Tlkiwi, I agree with you about the minging tasting water in London. I grew up in Scotland and tap water is lovely, it has no taste to it at all. When I moved to Preston all I could taste in the water was chlorine (or whatever other chemicals they've put in it), took me ages to be able to drink it. I buy bottled water if I'm in London, just can't stomach the water at all.

Yikes V - back in Aust a few years ago I read an article in the newspaper about some women bursting a hole in her throat ( the part the food goes down sorry cant remember its name). She did exactly what you did was hot took a big gulp and it fizzed up in her throat with enough pressure to make a hole. She was in pain and eventually went to the doctor where they were shocked at the damage. They advised that this rarely happens but that pouring coke etc into a glass first would allow the burst of fizzy to occur in the glass rather than your throat. I still drink from a can when I have a soft drink sometimes but I always think of that story.

Ooops forgot to ask - doesn't diet soft drink have something nasty in it linked with cancer?

yup - it's called asparatame and right now there are several lawsuits against it's manufacturer due to the health conditions it is causing. To name 2 big baddies: MS and Lupus.

and now back to our regular programming:

I drink all day period. I live in the desert so I figure I might as well drink as much and as often as I can in case something happens and I end up out there without water for a few whatevers......at least I have something banked until I can get home. I have not a clue how much I drink but it's coffee in the morning, iced tea at lunch and dinner and water in between until I go to bed.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
