I'm in Montreal... never get to ride outside this time of year, but I'm eager for spring. I'll definately be looking for some women to ride with.

Welcome to TE! Unfortunately I won't be riding with you in Montreal (well, maybe in July, and at the Grand Tour if by chance you make it) but otherwise I invite you to visit a good québécois forum where there's a few very nice women who ride: http://www.velocia.ca/ Also make sure you join this group on their Wednesday training sessions at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, they're awesome.
Cheers!
Thanks Grog!
I've gone down to the curcuit a few times myself in the summer, but find the flatness discouraging. I'm training for IM lake placid which is far from flat. But for group rides and experience I'll definately check it out!
Well the CGV is certainly not a place to have a "ride", but for skills training, it's great. We did quite a bit of fast pacelining, intervals, things like that last summer. There's a few experienced cyclists and coaches around, and some triathletes, and it's a great bunch. There should also be other rides all summer. I hope to see you there.Originally Posted by triflor

Am new here, but not new to cycling. Hailing from Vancouver, BC.
Before I cycled for over a decade in Toronto before moving where I am now.
I was involved in a women's cycling group for a few years in Toronto. We had to fold the group because we couldn't find volunteers to take over us, the organizing committee.
I have been cycle commuting to work, at times, it's gotten complicated because of where I work/weather, etc. Ride regularily on weekends for destressing and fitness. have done loaded bike touring in eastern part of Canada, Hawaii, etc. Out of town trips with my partner who is a (high active) local cycling advocate. (He himself has done loads of cycling ..across Canada and US).
Wow the Vancouver group is growing. Maybe we should be organize the next TE gathering of the PNW!

If it's not one thing it's another
If there's a TE gathering in Canada, I'm there! I'll take whoever can be persuaded to come along. Come to think of it, I haven't been to Calgary since 1980...THAT is when I learned that there were lovely British soldiers there in Banff.
Besides, I believe Bruno will appear (as I read) in lumberjack attire.
