Ha! The 2 larger topiaries commemorate real camels that Doris Duke (the quintessential "poor little rich girl") owned, which lived on the estate. The man at the gate told me one of the real camels is still alive, and at a zoo in New Jersey. I probably rode past these guys several times a week for 2 years before noticing them, and the large ones are life size. Tells you the kind of focus I have when riding. That was the best thing about taking Maidei out, seeing things that I don't usually notice. I hope she goes somewhere fun soon.
