Ok. I have to read things more carefully. I've been seeing these photos of llamas, stories about dangerous cougars, cc tells about kangaroos, all very exotic animals to me. So when I read camels, hey, I saw camels, and was just thinking gee! they're really fuzzy, aren't they, they look just like terriers...
Wasn't until I clicked on the photo I got the topiary bit...

    Nice pics!

Ha! The 2 larger topiaries commemorate real camels that Doris Duke (the quintessential "poor little rich girl") owned, which lived on the estate. The man at the gate told me one of the real camels is still alive, and at a zoo in New Jersey. I probably rode past these guys several times a week for 2 years before noticing them, and the large ones are life size. Tells you the kind of focus I have when riding. A new crack in the pavement I'd notice right away.

That was the best thing about taking Maidei out, seeing things that I don't usually notice. I hope she goes somewhere fun soon.

Is she finished with the Northeast?

I could show her around central Ohio next week - a recovery ride or two in the latter part of the week might be just what the doctor ordered for me. The fall colors are beautiful!

Does that mean she'll miss New York or that maybe she'll come around later?
