    Thanks!

I seem to be search engine retarded

I was recently chased by a lab that I knew was going to chase (he actually chased a car down the road when I was heading one way, and I had no option but to go back the same way) so I slowed down, got off my bike, and yelled at him when he charged. He barked until his stupid owner called him, then came charging back as soon as I jumped on my bike again. And the owner did NOTHING

Any suggestions on a situation like that? The dog seemed super territorial about his street...er...tiny county road, and the usual yelling didn't do much good other than stopping the chase whilst I wasn't moving.

I tried this link you provided: http://forums.teamestrogen.com/searc...archid=3177198 but all I got was "sorry nothing matches your search." Maybe that's been why I haven't found anything on my searches?

Hmm, funny how it works when you do it, but doesn't work as a link.
Anyway- go to the top of page, under "SEARCH". select "show threads" and then type in: chased by dog bite
that will bring up several good past threads with tons of great advice.

If it's an ongoing issue, call animal control or the sherrif's office where you are... that's really the best you can do, especially if roaming dogs are against the law. To get their attention make sure you describe the dog as aggressive.

I've heard that pepper spray (or bear spray - basically same thing) might work on dogs like this that won't leave you alone, but I've yet to buy or carry some to see if it actually works. Considering my previous bad crash involved an aggressive loose dog, it might not be a bad idea to keep some strapped to my bike... but so far I've just avoided the road with the "iffy" dogs entirely.

Personally I am wary of any loose dog I couldn't safely run over... I just can't trust them any more after having a crash because of one
