Wow, that was the worst thing I've ever seen! Did you see at the end the yellow show was still in the middle; one of the first ladies who fell her show trailed behind her and I guess she went on to ride the whole distance in one bare foot and one yellow shoe. I got to say this DUH!

I just finished my 4th year of triathlon and I've never witnessed anything like this. It looks like these were pros who should be a LOT more practiced at that. No, it is not the norm.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...
