I would like to throw in my suggestion of Nike Free Run+ shoes. I've been wearing them for about 3 months now...and I came off from wearing stability shoes my whole life. I had bouts of PF, heel spurs, toe numbness/pain...a myriad of foot issues, while I was wearing those heavily built-up stability trainers. When I decided to try something "minimal", I went with the Nike Free Run+ because it was one of the most comfortable shoes I had ever tried on. I started out very gradually in them. I wore them to work for a few weeks, then started wearing them to the gym. Gradually working my way up into running in them. I can now run 4-5 miles in them, with very little discomfort. Wearing my stability shoes, I could only get through about 2 miles of running, before my feet would be in extreme pain. I have finally found a shoe that allows me to run, relatively pain-free...and it only took me about 10 years of running in agony to find 'em!
