I don't know as I haven't worn them off road that much really. I wore them for a couple of short trail runs, but those were hard packed and super dry dirt (end of summer), so traction was not an issue. I did run on wet grass a bit last week and while they weren't hiking boot grippy, I didn't slip, either. Now that I think about it, they had better traction than my VFF's on the same grass, though.
I would think they'd be good on wet surfaces, but I'm not sure about snow or ice (or mud). We don't have much of the frozen stuff here, so it never even occurred to me. Sorry!
