Bike ride, too?

(Is there a pretty big Ibex selection at the Seattle REI? Last time I was down there about 4 years ago there wasn't that much... a Carrie hoodie... and maybe three or four other things.)

There is some ibex. The bike clothes selections aren't so good (for example they only have men's knickers) but they have lots of Ibex, yes.. I'd love a bike ride. We could go down to the waterfront, up through Myrtle Edwards park, and end up in Fremont... depending on Weather of course.

Arrg. I just realized that my passport renewal application is still processing (Passport Canada was dissatisfied with the first set of pictures because there was a flash reflection on my forehead.....!) so I don't know if I'll have it back by October 9th.

It's still two weeks away so my chances are not quite nil, but let's say I won't buy a train ticket ahead of time. Fingers crossed. If I come I'll bring a bike and also plan a book-shopping trip at the Elliott Bay Bookstore.

ETA: Processing is supposed to take 20 business days so don't expect me on the 9th of October. We could arrange another pre-Christmas shopping trip though. (And, we could go for a bike ride dressed as Santa's little helpers..... A tradition among my friends in Montreal: http://picasaweb.google.ca/tilleylh/...ereNoel200702# )

Since it's pouring outside (I'm on leave this week and next), I decided to do the most loathsome task of all---the change of seasons clothing switch in my drawers/closet. This year I was serious about tossing out stuff that I never/rarely wear or is too big, and packed up several bags of stuff to donate. Included among the soon-to-be-donated items are some Ibex baselayer tops.....unfortunately, they make me itch, so I can't wear them! Also am giving away several cashmere cardigans and sweaters.

When organizing my cedar drawer, I was surprised how many Shaks I've accumulated! I will wear those until they fall apart. I still need one in a navy blue, though.....

There is no line.
A true Wool Weenie will want to sleep in her good wool and will wear it 24 hours a day if the weather is nice and cool. I long ago started wearing the same wool items for day and for sleeping as well. The goal is merely to be warm and comfortable. The only limiting factor would be to avoid things with big zippers or bumpy pockets and such, that might be uncomfortable to lie on.

I think all pure wool is "too nice to sleep in" even if it comes from the thrift shop. But that doesn't stop me from sleeping in it if it's cozy and soft.

By December I'll have my bicycles. Found out today the housing market in New Orleans is dead, no one is even looking. So my realtor is going to try to rent out my house. Plan B for me, find a rental for the next several months, either a house or an apartment - but I need a garage for all my extra stuff I'm sure by the time a December bike ride rolls around, I'll need more wool.
