On Saturday, September 25th there is the 9th Annual Tour de Whidbey and on Sunday, September 26th you have the 18th Annual Kitsap Color Classic.
I know I will be doing at least one of these two fall classics and which one I will do all depends on which day offers the best weather.
Anyone else thinking about doing either ride? Or perhaps another ride that you would like share with us? What ever your plans for the weekend I hope the weather will be half decent this time around.![]()

Sorry to hear your hubby is coming down with a cold Laura but I guess it is that time of the year. I hope his cold doesn't last long and he is on the mend asap. I just watched the morning weather on TV and it looks like Saturday is going to be the better of the two weekend days. So it will be TdW for me.
Quite a bit further south, but we are doing A Peach of a Century on Sunday out of Salem, OR.
Hoping for good weather!![]()

We are planning on the Kitsap Color Classic right now...weather looks iffy, we will see. That was a fantastic ride last year, cool and sunny and perfect. I love taking the ferry boats over to the ride starts, that is my favorite part.
There is a tiny crepe restaurant near the ferry landing that is definitely worth a check-out if you are in the area...mmmm...hot fresh apple/cinnamon/caramel crepes.... mmmm..
Keep your fingers crossed for the weather...have fun whichever ride you do.
I will be workingA 12 hour shift Friday and Saturday and likely a 16 hour shift on Sunday! At any rate, I don't have any extra money to do a ride. But they all sound nice. Weather looks like it's supposed to be great this weekend. 70's and no rain! So, have fun. I, too, love taking the ferry somewhere to do a ride. My husband and I did Bainbridge about a month ago. It was really beautiful.
"Namaste, B*tches!"
We are planning on doing the Tour de Whidbey. We did it in 2008 and it is one of my all time favorite rides. The volunteers and support were fantastic and the route is very scenic. The ride starts at Greenbank farm where they have a full breakfast prior to the start. We are planning on going up Friday night and staying at our families cabin just a couple miles from the start. Unfortunately we can't stay on the island and enjoy the rest of the weekend as it is my daughters first HS Homecoming dance Saturday night and I need to help her get ready and take lots of photos, so I am hoping to make good time and finish by early afternoon![]()
The weather looks like it will be perfect!
