    i pod woes

    To disable ads, please log-in.

for some reason my ipod nano and myipod touch 4th generation are no longer downloading any podcasts and will not accept all of the play lists I am trying to get them to take.

I have reset both of them (lock on off and then hold center button and menu until apple icon appears) and checked that the stuff I want to download in both podcasts and play lists are physically present in my music library and checked in the edit preferences list.

I have also ascertained that I do have the correct and current version of itunes.

I so want to down load the podrunner episodes to train with in the gym and have the play lists broken down by cadence so I can pick one and go to town on the trainer at home and in the gym.

    Sigh.......

They both used to be much more cooperative but I can't for the life of me figure out what is going on. Are there any ipod gurus out there who could sugges anything?

Other than help from this group I figure I will have to find a geek squader somewhere and pay them to fix it.

    thanks

I haven't dealt with anything like this before, so I can't personally help. But have you checked the forums on the apple website? Support page --> support resources (bottom left section of the page) --> Discussions? Usually if it's a common problem, someone out there in the inter-world has figured it out!

When I downloaded the new OS for my iPod, I had to reset *within* a few of my apps and podcasts.

So, for example, NPR: bring up the app, click "more", click "settings" (within NPR app), click "reset application."

Maybe try looking for resets within the apps you are using?

I had enough trouble with the updated iPod OS and getting my calendar to play nicely with it, that I called the Apple store and spoke with a genius there. Free. Instant help. He walked me through the calendar reset process. I love being able to call for help with Apple products. Doesn't have to be the store you bought the product from (I bought mine at Costco, not even the Apple store.) If you get stuck, try giving them a call.

No direct help but I can say with my Apple products I've had luck with both the forums over there, and someone from the Apple store. So I second (third?) those recommendations.
