I've often thought that if I wanted something made in the USA and TIG welded instead of lugged, I'd go after a Gunnar. Even chose colors... just for fun, mind you.

My next made in USA bike will probably be a Co-Motion tandem. Or a Bike Friday tandem.

Oh, heck, I just want one of everything!

But seriously, if you get a Gunnar I don't think you'd be at all disappointed in the quality. The Waterford steel is sweet, so sweet!
Thanks, this is good to know! My fitter said that Gunnar is made by Waterford, basically the less expensive version. He also sang praises for the steel they use, and apparently the paint choices for the higher end Waterfords are sweet. It is good to have choices, so Gunnar is probably going to join my "short list" that Luna is on

Thankfully it will be quite some time before I can pull the trigger on a third bike purchase - so I've plenty of time for research! My second bike choice was certainly better than my first, so my third should be a great companion for Ms. Explorer.

A friend of ours has a Gunnar and LOVES it. It's something I would consider for my next road bike, too, since our LBS is a Gunnar dealer.
