    Cross-country races, anyone?

I just signed up for a CC 5K on Saturday. But the thing is, nearly all my running has been on pavement. It's a groomed CC course, used by some local high schools, so I'm thinking it'll be a lot smoother than the very little bit of backwoods trail running I've done, right? Anyone have any advice?

Nothing to worry about. Your times will probably be a tiny bit slower, but other than that....just run fast

Talked to a very young friend the other day who ran high school CC. He's pretty sure that this is the course where one of his teammates lost a shoe in the mud... But it's been very dry lately, so no problem. BTW, this kid's in college now, and one of my bikes is older than him!

So, even though the weather looks perfect for running on Sat-- in the high 50's at start time!-- this is probably not the race to look to go for a sub 25 min. 5k. I'm sure I can do it, but on pavement, not on grass/dirt/whatever else!

    Thanks, y'all!
