I had a magical ride today. I rode down by the beach, and there was flock of tiny birds apparently having a jamboree. There must have been thousands of them, flying all around me. It was like a Disney movie.

24 miles, with my biggest hills. Gorgeous clear skies, cool and breezy.

It is a gorgeous day. Perfect new England weather. I had my arm warmers on for the first 10 minutes of my ride today.
After my hiking vacation, and 4 days of rain that was badly needed, I finally rode yesterday (12 whole miles) and today (20 miles). Today I rode with my friend who is a much slower rider, but I did some intervals and tried to catch a guy in front of me to spice it up, in the middle of the ride. Nothing special in terms of where we went, but thoroughly enjoyable. It still amazes me how many riders I see out during a weekday morning, compared to even 5 years ago.
Hope to do at least one long ride this weekend.

I am traveling tomorrow, so headed out for 65 miles this afternoon. It was fantastic, nice cool temps, and just had a blast. Noticed a lot of furry caterpillars crossing the road, made me think of that old folk tale that I sure hope is wrong about how they predict a cold winter

Went back to my usual nutrition, and this time I made sure that I drank at least 120 ounces in my 5 hour ride - and felt great at the end (outside of one hand and a stiff neck)! Even with all of those carbs - my blood sugar was fantastic after the ride - which meant that I needed all that I consumed - and I used a lot...

Tomorrow will be in a car for about 10 hours... would rather be on my bike!

18 kms. then had a meeting.

I was grateful for the ride with its hill, etc. I needed the ride.

This weekend some more riding, lst segment we have to leave before 6:00 am with our panniers packed, etc.
