Saddle bag (or another option) for road bike with carbon seat post?

I guess I'm not understanding why a regular normal underseat bag won't work with your carbon seat post??? I have a carbon seat post...infact, it's not even round, it's tear-drop shaped and my medium-size Topeak aero wedge bag works just fine with it.

I always stole my bf's seat bag and would forget to put it back. So he would realize he was bagless halfway through his ride, oops. So he made me get my own.

I just bought the same one he has. Its the specialized mini wedgie. It fits a small pump, one tube, and tire levers. Takes a little stuffing and maneuvering, but it all gets in there. You can also stash some cash in a little pocket inside. It's only about $20 and just fits what you need in case of a flat.

He has an all carbon bike and swears by this little bag.

Actually, the carbon seat post itself is not the actual problem for a saddle bag. However, I can't/shouldn't use a seat post rack/trunk bag system because of the carbon seat post.

It seems to be the placement of the saddle rails (a Specialized Lithia Gel saddle) that causes a problem for the underseat bag. I have tried three different bag designs, and none seem to attach so that the bag hangs without being squashed-or I can't get it snug under the seat.

I have the same bag, except not the velcro version (I think it's the medium, not the small), on both my road and tri bikes:

On my tri bike I have to bend the pack to fit against the seat post, it's just a little wrongly shaped (the small/micro might fit better but holds less). I can fit (carefully arranged like puzzle pieces) 2 tubes, a co2 inflator, 2 or 3 co2 cartridges, tire levers, valve extender, and patch kit. It fits 1 tube much more comfortably, but I always cram in 2 for Ironman and just leave them that way.

I use the Cannondale seat bag that attaches with velcro on my Kuota. It holds an unbelievable amount of stuff: 2 tubes, CO2 inflator, 2 cartridges, Luna Bar, Cliff Shots, zip lock with wipes, antibiotic cream, as well as being able to stuff arm warmers or other stuff in there. It's not super small, but not a giant size either.
