They won't charge the driver until they've completed the investigation (including hopefully they've done a tox screen) and all the charges are ready.
Otherwise - this happened in a case a few years back - say they give him a ticket for ignoring the traffic cop, then he goes in on Monday morning and pleads guilty and pays the fine and the whole thing is double jeopardy.Speed comes from what you put behind you. - Judi Ketteler
