I had considered a CR1 Pro when I was in the market for a new bike at the start of this season. But during my research, I had noticed that the rear derailleur hanger appears to be "built into" the frame on this bike...which I thought was a bit odd, since I had not come across any other bike that had the hanger built into the frame. Now, whether or not this was a valid reason to cross the CR1 Pro off of my list, is a good question. But since I had a rear derailleur hanger crack on my Cervelo, causing my rear derailleur to get sucked into my rear wheel and bringing me to a grinding HALT (I'm lucky I didn't crash)...I'm happy with my decision to go with a bike that I can easily replace the RD hanger.
However, I do not know if the Contessa model is built the same way. And just to clarify...I don't actually know for sure, that the RD hanger is a part of the actual frame and not replaceable (it may very well be replaceable)...it just "looks" that way when I saw pics of the frame.

I brought my CR1 Contessa after having a Specialized Ruby which was too small. I really like my bike![]()
Only thing Im not so keen on is the light weight of this bike in the Trade winds here in Hawaii........I can't recall feeling so wobbly in New Zealand but I'm sure it was just as windy, I'm just out of practice![]()
