Nice bike. Definitely needs a splash of color IMO. I felt the same way about my Trek 520 with all the brown colors on it. I love the black Surly. I also want to do a cross country trip one day but need to convince DH to do it with me. I would be up for a ride with you if you go through Michigan.... The UP is beautiful and Lake Superior is one of the most amazing lakes we have here.

That's so cool!! I'm in North Florida, if you're passing through. We have a great cycling community here and would love to ride with you and/or offer a place to stay, as well.

Yeah, it does need a punch of color (IMHO) now that I think about it. Get bar tape in your favorite color? It's still a great-looking bike, though.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Congratulations -- I love that bike! I was looking at it online yesterday. If you pass through the north Georgia area let me know -- we have two guest rooms and a spare bathroom at your disposal. I might even be able to ride a day or two with you. Like Trek-chick, I'm having trouble convincing DH that touring is something we could actually do. Those darn jobs keep getting in the way . . .

When you figure out how to get your DH to tour with you, let me know how you did it. I keep leaving touring mags around the house hoping to inspire him...no luck yet. He doesn't even see the point, unless there's a race involved.
