Tandem riding is SOOOO much fun! You'll love it. Chris and I have put a good 6,000 miles on the one we got in '05. It's a blast!

DH and I test rode a tandem while at Bike Virginia. I was surprised to find that I really didn't mind not steering and not shifting, as long as DH communicated to me what he was doing. I loved being able to look around, really scan well for cars, and take pictures.
I think I'd have to be in the right mood to ride a tandem on a particular day, but it definitely didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.

That's awesome! We've been tandeming for 13 years or so and absolutely love it. We have a co-motion and I can't say enough good things obout the bike. We have a "speedster" and have considered adding the periscope to the collection - the back seat post gives you lot's of flexibility to who is in the back, kids, hubby, what ever.
Enjoy the daylights out of that thing!!!

Our Co-Mo tandem is the best thing we ever bought. So much better than a boat or a camper or a cabin. One time a survey asked if we "owned a Recreational Vehicle" and we looked at each other and said "yes."Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
