It was the same here today. 102 with 115 heat index. Scary hot! It's even hot in the house with the AC running because it just can't keep up.

It's in the upper 70s right now (midnight), but with approximately 80% humidity. Icky. Too hot to do much save short walks in the evenings.

    Anyone know anywhere that's about 70F year-round?
At least I don't leave slime trails.

I know complaining that it is hot when one lives in Florida is like "Duh!"
It is one of our hottest summers on record. I joined a gym for the summer just to have a place to run (treadmill) out of the heat. The water in my pool is 90+ degrees, not very refreshing.
Last evening we had a big evening rain storm come thru. So as it was winding down & I walked to my car the temperture must have dropped 20 degrees, first time i walked to or from my car without sweating in a very long time.

This heat is crazy. We hit 106 today and the heat advisory has been extended to 11 pm. I'm sure it was a record.

We had a cold front and it's now 96 with a humidity of 59%. I decided that it was time to put the new road tires on my spare set of rims and took the bike up and down the road for a ride test. There is a nice breeze and I was thinking that this kind of weather is perfect for gravel grinding.

LOL! Hubs and I are doing Hotter N Hell...figure the temps aren't any different than our regular saturday rides have been! On the way home last saturday, it was 106. Went ride last night at 6:30 and it was still 102.

I rode Monday night when it was a frigid 99. Luckily our brilliant ride leader decided we should all jump into the Barton Springs in our bike clothes. One of the best mountain bike rides I have had, didn't even mind driving home with wet clothes. The water of the springs is about 70 degrees, heaven.

The one thing we can really be thankful for in Central Texas is we didn't hit 100 until July 31. Last year we nearly broke the record for 100 degree days, I think it finally stopped at 68? It was a wetter than normal early summer which really helped. I just hope the 100's don't carry too far into September.

Aggie, lol! Texas summers can be brutal. I know it's hot in Las Vegas but it's a *dry* heat. I remember one summer I was passing through Dallas on an unairconditioned bus and it registered 124 F downtown. I felt like I had been to Hades.
