Who's riding this year? I need to make up my mind before it fills up. I really liked it last year. The climbing makes it a great training ride for launching into a century.

I figured that would be your response.![]()
You can always come out and stay the week. Travel to Mobe with us.
It's a fun ride. I'd like to do it again.

How much climbing are we talking for this one?
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

I can't remember exactally, but not much. I think the only climbs are up the dams. And those are short. There are a bunch of little rolly climbs but nothing lung busting. In other words, nothing like you have around there where you live.Originally Posted by Trekhawk
I remember the more challenging aspects of the ride being some of the other riders. It's pretty flat and fast so you get lots of agressive paceline action going on. Once of the best marked and "managed" organized rides I've been on, though.
My HRM data says 3600 over 67 miles.

Thanks guys for the info. Its always a bit iffy for me signing up for rides because I never know whether my other half will have to dash off on a trip (except the LRRH because Ive told him he will be toast if he goes away and I miss that).![]()
Having said that I think I might sign up for the 50k and take my chances that he will be around.
V thanks for the stats but Im afraid as I still havent hooked up my new computer with altitude gain I have no idea if those stats should scare me or not.
Perhaps I should be changing my name to cluelesshawk.

That's not a lot of climbing for a ride. None of the hills are very steep. We did it on our tandem and had a blast.

I'm working on talking my coach into it. Saturdays are supposed to be fast, hard rides. 67 miles is a tad too long to be fast and hard. But it is such a pretty ride.

But the company will be soooooo good! 'Course, there's also the Bud Light and lederhosen.
Not to mention, this is the week AFTER the Solvang Double. You need to back off for a bit. You won't loose fitness in such a short period, but you could definitely over do it. Sounds like a good ride to me for between doubles.
I think I'd like to sign up for this too - it will be fun to see you guys (as you pass by!)
I really enjoyed this ride last year, it's a beautiful area. I think I'll sign up.
Double cool (for BZ and Kim, get it?).
Bubba comes home tonight so I'll get him to commit. He was very positive about it a few days ago but didn't give an outright yes. I'll dangle PayDays in front of him.
