Oh, dude, Bamboo Bike Studio has a frame building class in San Francisco this fall.
$632 to build a frame
$948 with components (who cares if they are low grade, you build your frame and you learn how to build the complete... switch 'em later, eh?)
ETA: did you look at the slideshow? Did you *LOOK* at the slide show? Swoon! Ok, nothing else will do for my next bike except making my own bamboo bike.

i attended the first night of a workshop at the bamboo studio. it was awesome. for anyone here who decides to go to one. take plenty of snacks! it is amazing to watch my bike take form. i should start a new thread and upload photos. i am staying in a hotel for the workshop so i may wait until i get home to do that.
