Is spending $100 for a bike fit worth it??

Have any of you spent this much? I live in southern California so everything here costs more. I am a new member of a cycling club and one of the members owns a bike shop. They do custom bike fits for $100. Has any of you done this and were you satisfied with the service?

I would start with: why do you think you need a bike fitting? Are you having problems with pain or discomfort while you're riding? Are you racing and hoping a better fit will improve your power transfer to the pedals?

I would also try to find others who have had bike fittings at this particular shop to see if they were happy with them.
