    My second tri!

Well I gave it another shot. I did the Blue and Gold Sprint Triathlon yesterday...only my second sprint triathlon with my first one being two years ago. Not as impressive as a lot of you ladies but my times improved and it was an awful lot of fun.

300m pool swim, 12 mi bike, 5k run with the swim being the best improvement. I couldn't swim a stroke when I trained for my first tri and had to take lessons. I panicked when I hit the water, didn't think I would make it and backstroked the whole thing. Yesterday I swam the whole 300m without stopping and even passed a couple folks. Time wasn't impressive (10:30) but it was an improvement.

Passed a few folks on the bike then won a sprint with another woman at the end of the run. Little did I know she was in my age group and the sprint put me in second place for my age group (50-59).

Total time was 1:21 with a 17.7 average on the bike. The results aren't posted yet so I don't have exact times. My transition times were slow....I'm not messing with socks next time but it was a lot of fun and I wasn't last!

YAY! I'm impressed with anyone that does a tri. Maybe I'll do one yet.

Way to go Bike Chick! Great improvement, and way to kick the finish!

I'm wayyyy too sleep deprived to write up my tri this morning, but I had fun and I'm happy with the result considering my total lack of training.

Thanks everyone! You need to give it a tri, Beth!!! The training keeps things interesting and the events are really a lot of fun.
