No--it's raining (but not enough!) and I need to clean.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Looks like the storm cleared the air and dropped the temperature for our whole region, even if you didn't get a lot of rain.

It was timed just right for my tri. Dry on the bike, the rain kept me cool on the run. No lightning nearby, thank goodness.

They're calling for highs in the mid-80s for the rest of the week, here. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I didn't see any rain - though there WERE those 4 raindrops that fell on me. That was about it - beautiful country ride and the air felt almost chilly after yesterday's furnace.

Woke up this morning in Abilene, TX heading back from NM it was 91 degrees at 11 am! It was like walking into a furnace. After 29 Texas summers I think I need a change!

How to cope with heat without aircon.

Recipe - 1 large linen tea towel, water, ceiling fan or pedestal/desk fan

Method - Dip tea towel in water and wring out excess. Drape over your body (naked works really well, so you may want to try this in private) and turn on the fan. It's necessary to re-wet the towel after a while. I've found this very effective during our heat waves and ensures a more comfortable night when sleeping.

Oak, I can sympathize. I finished vacuuming and I broke a sweat. Even with the AC going our house is about 82 F indoors. One day I looked at one of my framed prints and a bumper had melted off the back of it. My cycling has been seriously hampered this summer by the humidity and heat--even before dawn the air is so humid it looks like fog. Next week we're back to a heat index of 108-110 F again. I don't know about you but I am sooo looking forward to fall.

    uh oh

Oh dear...the Australian summer's only a few months away...I dearly hope Perth doesn't experience anything like the current temps along the US Eastern Seaboard...

Am I ever thankful for the "fremantle dr" seabreeze in the summer. When it's not around, life is horrible for everyone in Perth...
