Congratulations, Beth! Welcome to the PNW. Most of the newer homes tend to have electric hook-up. Condo and townhomes are usually electric,too. The older homes are a toss up between the two, sometimes they have the option for both. Can you pick up a used dryer while you're there that you can leave with the house? If you have to sell the new one, you'll probably take a bigger hit.

Selkie, I'm jealous because I used to live there and would never have left if not for the economy. Collapse + massive layoffs in both DH's and my sector, and I don't think there's a "back to normal," just a new normal.

Believe me, I've been hunting!
