I think the pile of something I saw yesterday used to be a turtle. But I couldn't be sure......![]()

Last week I was descending a hill at the mountain bike trail and saw a Camelbak podium bottle on the ground in the middle of the trail. It was actually in a precarious spot so I stuck it in my bottle cage and watched for a cyclist without a bottle but I saw none. I brought it home, disinfected it, ran it again through the dishwasher and added it to the collection. These are $9-10 bottles, I am sure someone was disappointed to lose it as it appears fairly new.
I also find tons of ponytail holders. These are my cat Tortilla's favorite toy so I bring them home, wash them with dish soap and give them to her. I also collect tubes which mountain bikers have an affinity for just discarding on the trail. One day I will patch or recycle them.![]()

Was out yesterday on a trail that's going to be part of the event i'm doing in mid sept and found this section boooooooooring. It was like watching paint dryHalfway into my ride there was a very nice looking blue couch on the side of the trail which looked inviting!

keep a couple of the pony tails things in you underseat bag. They are handy for fastening kerchiefs around wounds, fasten things to your frame, etc,
Take one of the tubes, cut it into small sections of 1-3 inches and carry a couple for boots on future flats, slit them into strips, use them as tie ups on miscellaneous bundles of stuff for storage or recycling, tie up your plants with them. Take three cut apart to make three long tubes, fasten the top together with a pony tail, braid them the entire length, fasten the ends together with another pony tail thing and you have a portable, strechable clothes line for hanging things up on without clothes pins, just tuck them in between the braids. Cut another on into a length and use it for passive resistance in stretching and for ball exercises.
have fun and play tug of war with another. Recycle the rest. Mama Gaia will thank you.

Lots of wooly/furry caterpillars crossing the road. I lost count of how many I saw in 5 hours. Isn't it a little early for them to show up?
I found a $5 bill today. What shall I buy with it?
