I think pinning the collarbone right away yields the best results, although I am stunned to hear riders could be back on their bikes so quickly (with good pain meds and against doctors orders, I'm sure).
My rehab will be totally different since I endured six weeks of immobility before surgery.
I learned that the reason I am able to dangle my arms is because doing so requires only gravity, not muscles. I am slowly building my arm strength back, and 5 weeks after surgery I am able to bring my arm up to the sky, with difficulty, though I cannot do a circle of any sort.
I don't have osteoperosis that I know of, I just believe calcium will help the bone heal faster.
