Looks like we too will be moving, to Portland area of Oregon not Maine. A real estate agent is looking for our temporary house. Can't rent while we look for our permanent home cause we have ten cats, two dogs and three hen. Who would in a their right mind would rent to us?

We are so finished with SoCal. just the other day, someone poached all my lemons off our tree!! not one or two... but the whole friggen tree was stripped clean.

Even without the animals, I am not looking forward to the move. I think I need to go scrounge up dozen pallets for our stuff. Large electric kiln, a medium electric kiln, a gas kiln, a commercial Hobard mixer think of it as an over sized kitchen aid mixer standing just over three feet tall and weigh in around 300 pounds, a commercial convection oven... These are just for starters. and oh the monster is a 20ton or was it a 40ton hydraulic press. cylinder itself is about 12 inches across and uses three phase. A small fork lift will not do... OUI!!! just some of our toys my partner and I have

I should have grabbed all those stainless steel cages for the animals from my vet.

    me three?

If all goes well, I'll either be moving to Seattle or Portand by this fall. I grew up moving, and apparently still can't settle down. Over the years, various things have disappeared off the truck, or the entire truck has gone missing. That was a fun move, load got split, FBI was involved... a week later the second truck arrives. And since Uncle Sam paid for the move, my folks couldn't sue the movers.

My pending move will be packed and moved by Uncle Sam, which in itself will be an adventure. Despite careful checking of the inventory of boxes, seems like something is never seen again every time. Moving, quite the adventure.

all 280 boxes are unpacked. The important things like bike clothes, workout clothes, bike computers, change of t shirts and underwear and the wine opener have been found at least once some more than once since I am still picking things up, wandering around and trying to find homes for them and then forgetting where I put them.

Still missing are the three kitty litter trays. These are not small items. When last seen three weeks ago, they were clean and in the laundry room holding light bulbs, cleaning equipment and detergent. These - with the exception of the kitty litter trays- were all found packed nicely together in box 189 with plenty of room for the kitty litter trays.

At this point I am so tired I am hallucinating brightly colored little furry animals and people watching me.

I'm sure it will all work out eventually but in the meantime, having your 88 year old legally blind, diabetic, but mainly independent, FIL move in with you with his geriatric dog is probably something I will hopefully never have to do again. It is rather like suddenly having a three year old child again. I am hopping that I have managed to get things stabilized enough that I can maybe take an hour at the gym and work off some of the stress tomorrow. I am hoping to do a little exploratory bike ride Friday, just to sort of get the lay of the area.

The house will be lovely when and if we ever get all the details done, pictures hung, plants in planters, empty boxes out of the garage etc.

Took 20 minutes to find pants to wear to work yesterday. Gave up on finding socks. Wore Keens to work. Would love to start cooking dinners at home, but can't find my pots - any of them, anywhere.
