It was a lot of funI will do this again, and try to get out even earlier so I can get a taste of night-riding. I am an early-bird by nature, so that is much safer for me than staying out late.

I had planned a 16 mile ride for today, but it's been rainy all day and I don't do rain. Darn it, this is going to put me behind in my goals for the week, but maybe I can find a way to make up the mileage somehow.![]()
OP, your sunrise ride sounds great, except for those passing big rigs.![]()

Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
Today is our anniversary.
Being old married farts, and not into romantic candle light dinners, we did what fits our life as a couple: We spent the morning doing a holiday N2 special ride, went home, had lunch, loaded the kayaks and went to a friend's house in Annapolis to do some kayaking. Picked up some take out on the way home, opened a bottle of wine, and had dinner in our sweaty beach clothes before unloading the kayaks and showering again.
Now...we're sitting and watching the tour.
And such is our life!![]()

Had to scratch my planned ride today - I put out my back helping my mom with some gardening yesterday. It's not serious - but enough that I'd rather not be on bike for a day or two.![]()

We got a short 15 mile ride in with friends yesterday morning. I'm so excited because our training buddy's wife is now starting to ride and is going with us a couple times a week. We threw some hills in the ride yesterday and she was struggling but she hung in there and was smiling at the end. It seems like yesterday I was the beginner and I remember too well how it feels to be in her saddle![]()

I rode to the gym at the hottest part of the day (my class started at 4:30 p.m.), taught step aerobics/stability ball, rode back home. Brought my 2-liter Camelbak with ice and Nuun. After my class I was feeling bonk-ish and knew I'd have to get something to eat before I got home. So I stopped at a convenient store. Honestly, the Live Bait resembled food more closely than what they had in the "human" aisles, but I just wasn't in the mood for mealworms, so I got a peanut candy bar. That helped some, but even so, the trip back home is a net uphill and into the wind (admittedly a light wind, but still 91°), and I just couldn't face that second-to-last hill. So I hopped onto the highway for a little over a mile instead of going the back way. 29 miles RT.
Today I spent most of the day in and out of the car, marking roads for the tour our club is co-sponsoring a week from Saturday.
I don't know what it's going to take for me to acclimate to these temperatures for running. The wind I generate just by moving the bike makes all the difference in the world...
