I don't think you have to be a member to shop there. We've purchased a few things from them over the years. It's like REI - you just don't get any money back later.

Hi Canadian ladies,
I need your help! I'm building my own panniers and I'm looking to get my hands on 2 pairs of MEC Oversize Pannier Clips (see here), but I'm disinclined to become a member for a $13 purchase. Would one of you be willing to buy them and mail them to me, and I'll reimburse you?

In fact you do need to be a member to buy there, and you don't get money-back later even if you are. There are dividends but they are very seldom cashed, normally they just accumulate and support the financial sustainability of the coop, unless one wants to stop being a member.
Kfergos, which ones do you want? The oversize ($6.75) or the regular ($6) pannier clips? You can send me a private message with your address. They seem to be in stock at my local store.
Interesting - I guess Thom must have joined then because we've bought a few things there over the years. They had the best night time cycling vest a few years ago, because it actually had back pockets.![]()

At $5 it's not a big investment you would have needed to re-mortgage your house for, so maybe you didn't notice!
I have one of those vests, love it! They have improved them this year, still not showing up in the catalogue but surely will be soon.
I find that they have a really good selection of middle-of-the-road cycling gear. And their bike shorts are my total favourites, at the unbelievable price of $58.
Vive MEC!
+1000 for MEC!![]()
MEC has been one of my favorite Canadian discoveries. If only they would build a store in Saskatoon!
