That's the coolest video ya! I love it![]()
This is so timely. I just signed up for my first mountain bike race. I was all excited until I learned that they are including the "skills" section of the trail![]()
Limewave, do you know if they'll have a B line around any of the "skills" section? Can you ride it before the event?
I don't know about your races but down our way, they have "A" lines & " B" lines to make it fair for everyone. Ya, some of the "b" lines are just as hairy but not as freaky.
They are marking the course on Friday. Fortunately, I only work a half day, so I thought I would go check it out to see exactly what will be entailed. I was planning to have Friday as a rest day, oh well . . . Until then, I'm trying really hard to not stress out about it. I'm really wimpy. That's one of the reasons I took up mountain biking, to try and get over some of my fears.
You can still use Friday as a rest day, even if you go and pre-ride the course. Just don't go out at a hard pace - take your time to see where the best lines are, where you can up the speed a little bit, and where you need to be careful. This will also give you a good idea on where you can take a drink and eat.
As for the skills section - without seeing it, I can't help a lot. Remember to keep loose, don't look AT the object, but at the line you want to follow, keep your momentum, and trust in the bike.
I'm sure you will do well! We can't wait for the report.
