I forgot to mention that on my ride through Burleson and the surrounding area I saw a funny thing. Caterpillars crossing the road. The big, fat, furry caterpillers. I thought they looked like something out of disney crossing the road in a business like fashion. At a rest stop I mentioned them to my husband ....that I liked seeing such big furry caterpillers. I had never seen such large fat ones before. I reckoned they were cute and might even be a fun pet. He looked at me and said, "Yeah, those are asps, not caterpillers. They send you to the hospital."
    Fabulous. So much for Disney.

But if you had one for a pet, when someone ticked you off you could say (ever so sweetly), "Kiss my asp."

I am curious about this - it doesn't sound like you are talking about snakes - and those are the only Asps I've heard of. I looked around the internet to see if I could find mention of these but wasn't successful - or I shouldn't have mixed beer and getting over-heated I assume you are in Burleson, Texas? Just trying to figure out what these creatures are.

Added: after posting this question of course I found the information here. It always seems to work that way

42 kms. Bit of a wind, but fine. Not sure why my legs were getting tired. Especially when 1 wk. ago I did 99 kms. and I was buzzin' to go.

    Here's another page on 'em - http://www.ayavaya.com/bug-photos/asp-caterpillar - I think I'm glad we don't have those here!

I had a great ride. We had a special club ride this morning where we raised some money for a little boy (2 years old) that was struck by a car and is not paralized from the chest down. We had a great turn out for the ride and we were able to raise over $1700 and two plane tickets. It was heart warming event! My hubby and I took out a smaller group of B riders. There were about 8 of us. It was early on when I realized that I was one of the more experienced riders of the group. Half way through our ride I had worked my way to the front of the pace line. For the first time ever I was able to pull the line of riders for 3 miles at 20mph. You could not have wiped that smile off of my face. I was very excited for my newest accomplishment.
