It resonates with me because my now aging but still energetic shelter mutt alerted me that the gas was on in the house long ago. We'd been cooking, turned the burner off but not all the way. If Mae (my mutt) had not kept barking and alerted us judging from the smell of gas in the house at 2am or so I am sure we would not be having this conversation on TE right now.
