    Wow. What an *******.

So, I was riding on Mercer Island today, and usually have nothing but courteous encounters with motorists. But today about half way through my time there, I was followed by some ******* in an SUV who insisted on laying on his horn for about 5 minutes straight as he followed me. In the meantime, I saw plenty of opportunities where he could have safely passed me when no one was coming in the opposite direction, but instead I guess he wanted to make some sort of statement instead of actually driving. I didn't budge at all, and I guess when cars started to line up behind him, and I clearly wasn't moving out of his way, he decided that it wasn't worth it and went around me!

    What a ****!

Grrr, sounds infuriating. I guess it's inevitable you'll run into one like that occasionally.

That is both scary and infuriating - I'm glad you kept your head about you and stayed safe. Ddi you happen to get his license plate #? I don't know if the mercer island cops would take it seriously, but that behavior qualifies as harrassment in my book...

I didn't get any information about the car other than it was a black (and looked like it had been spray painted at that!) SUV like a jeep or blazer. I actually didn't even get a look at the driver, so it could have been a woman for all I know. I was doing my best to ignore them and not give them the benefit of any reaction and just focus on my riding, going the speed I normally would go and riding like I normally would. When they did finally pass me I did my best to not look unnerved!
