Yeah, a number of people had told me to go into central park and start there but I wanted to be part of the real start. We got there at 6am, 2 hours before start and started making our way in and couldn't even find an open street at a point where we could get into the pack. After going up and down side streets and having to turn back we stopped for a potty break and to make a plan. We started seeing people loop down to the start, turn and go back so we asked them what they were doing and they said they were just going to start- the streets were going to be closed in 20 minutes so we figured we'd navigate the traffic until then- we got about 10 blocks and found this alternate starting point and waited there.
