I'm going to start small and simple:

Ride more "real rides" which will be easier this year since I'm no longer teaching 8 spinning classes a week, just three. (Plus I just bought two road bikes...see my "What am I going to do now?" thread).

Spend more time on my own fitness even if I have to make appointments with myself (I'm a Personal Trainer by trade).

Play golf at least a few times this summer with my DH, and maybe he'll go on a couple rides with me. (One can always hope).

    Participate more and lurk less.......
Vertically challenged, but expanding my horizons.

    Update

I'm adding a goal and blaming you gals (Veronica, Kim and jobob if you want specific names ). Last year I had fun as a newbie on the TE Girls' Hill Training Program. I set 100,000 ft or 80 Empire State Buildings as a goal.

Year 2 it will be the Seven Summits. This is a cumulative total of the tallest peak from each continent.

Last year I didn't start until Presidents' Day (mid-Feb here in the US) when I rode Diablo the first time. If the weather cooperates I can start earlier.

Cindy, you can go with me! I'll even pay for your airfare because I got a 2-for-1 deal.

    Great Goal SK!

What cyclometer do you use? (I'm sure that is in a post somewhere, but I'm not sure how best to locate it). My wacky Specialized P-brain packed up in August, after several months of completely wrong elevation recording, and I just found out I can apply the purchase price towards a new Polar computer - I'm probably going to get the S720i.

Yep, that's what I have. It is the newer version of what Veronica uses. I'm seeing some good reports on the VDO that TrekHawk got for Xmas but the VDO isn't downloadable (or have HRM) so you can't create elevation profiles. I like the visual graph of the hills. Especially when you take a flatland ride and distort the image so it looks like HUGE hills.

I used my REI dividend last year and with the new year sale they have, I got a pretty good price.

Finally reached the first of the summits. With the weather, I've been sticking close to home which means no hills and the only bumps are free bridges. At least I've made a little headway. Pitiful. 16,855 as of today.
